Ryan Norman was hired as the women's golf coach at Nebraska Wesleyan in December 2019 and added the role of the men's head coach in July 2021.
The 2021-22 campaign saw NWU men have a season scoring average of 309.10. The NWU women held a season average score of 357.60 per round. The Prairie Wolf men won the BVU Invite in October of 2021 with a 14-over score of 590. The Prairie Wolf women won the Midland/CSM Invite in April of 2022 with a score of 365. Freshman, Geran Sander won that BVU Invite with a 2-over score of 146 and repeated his reign at NWU's home tournament in the spring of 2022. Sander earned All-Conference honors and Connor Vandewege followed as All-Conference honoree. The Prairie Wolves have not only excelled on the golf course, in Norman's two and a half years at Nebraska Wesleyan, he has had six Academic All-Conference selections.
The spring 2020 season was ended before any tournaments could be played due to the COVID-19 global health pandemic. In Norman's first full season, The Prairie Wolves saw steady improvement. NWU had two of its best finishes of the season in the last two events, highlighted by a third-place standing at the College of St. Mary/Midland Spring Invitational on April 14. Nebraska Wesleyan also had its lowest team score in a round since 2017 at the Wartburg Spring Invitational just four days later.
Along with his duties at Nebraska Wesleyan, Norman is a PGA Professional and is the director of Instruction of the Ryan Norman Golf Academy at Council Bluffs Country Club
As a competitor, Norman qualified for the 2015 PGA Professional National Championship Qualifier that highlights the top 300 PGA Playing Professionals in the country. Norman plays professionally throughout the summer within the Nebraska Section PGA and is a four-time Nebraska PGA Cup Team Qualifier.
Prior to Nebraska Wesleyan, Norman was the Head Girls Golf Coach at Omaha Brownell Talbot for three years. He led the team to the 2018 State Tournament and had an individual place 9th overall at the Class C Championships. In 2017 he had two golfers finish in the top 20 at the Class C State Meet.
Norman earned a degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Sport Psychology in 2005.
