Hunter Sowersby

Hunter Sowersby joined Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2025 as the first full-time assistant coach in the history of the men’s soccer program.

A standout player at Wells College, Sowersby earned Third Team All-Conference honors during his sophomore season and led his team in goals that year. He holds school records for most games played and is recognized as one of the winningest players in program history, earning a spot on the Wells College Men’s Soccer All-Decade Team.

Sowersby brings extensive coaching experience at the collegiate level. Most recently, he served as the Head Women’s Soccer Coach at SUNY Polytechnic Institute, where he oversaw recruiting, player development, and game strategy. Prior to that, he spent several years at Marywood University, first as an Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach and later as the Head Men’s Soccer Coach. In these roles, he led team training sessions, developed program strategies, and mentored players to reach their full potential. Additionally, Sowersby has worked as a private trainer, helping athletes refine their technical skills and tactical awareness.
