Nebraska Wesleyan University has named Ryan Vlasin as the new men’s golf coach for the Prairie Wolves. Vlasin assumes duties immediately leading the NWU men this fall.
Vlasin, a 2001 graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan, was a standout golfer at NWU from 1997-2001. As a senior in 2001, he was named NCAA III All-America honorable mention. He also was the GPAC Individual Champion as a senior in 2001, winning the title in a playoff.
Vlasin competed as an individual at the 2001 NCAA III Championships and was named a pre-tournament All-American earning the honor by being top three in the district. He won three meets in the spring of his senior season with a stroke average of 74.89. During his four-year career he was a four-time All-Region selection, four-time All-Conference selection and was a three-time NCAA All-American scholar.
The McCook, Neb., native earned his bachelor of science in biochemistry & molecular biology from Nebraska Wesleyan in 2001. He then earned a doctorate in pharmacy from the Creighton University School of Pharmacy in 2008.
