LINCOLN, Neb. – After helping lead the Prairie Wolves to a 2-0 start in American Rivers Conference play, Nebraska Wesleyan senior forward Nick Howard has been named the American Rivers Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending December 7, 2025, conference officials announced Monday.

Howard was a difference-maker on both ends of the floor, averaging 21.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game in wins over Central and Luther. The Lenexa, Kan. native shot an efficient 60.0 percent from the field, connected on 53.8 percent of his three-point attempts, and finished the week at 83.3 percent from the free throw line.

In Wednesday's conference opener against Central, Howard poured in 23 points while adding four rebounds and five assists in the Prairie Wolves' 24-point victory over the Dutch. He followed that performance with 19 points, five rebounds, and three assists in Saturday's 70-53 road win at Luther.

The honor marks the first American Rivers Conference Player of the Week award of Howard's career.

Nebraska Wesleyan returns home Saturday to host conference rival Coe inside Snyder Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m., with the Prairie Wolves having won three of the last four meetings in the series.
