Seward, Neb. – Nebraska Wesleyan put up season bests and moved up the all-time charts while climbing up the NCAA qualifying list on Friday when the Prairie Wolves competed at the Concordia Classic in Seward, Neb.
Two Prairie Wolves women won individual events and two NWU men were individual winners with nine total second place finishes.
Senior
Dayton Dolincheck was one of the biggest highlights of the day for the NWU women as she threw the shot put 47-3, which is the best mark in all of NCAA Division III this season.
The two winners for the NWU women were
Maddie Moran in the 60 meters (7.95) and Aleena Souvannavong won the triple jump with a distance of 36-4.75 that ranks 5
th on the all-time charts.
Four Prairie Wolves were second on the track, starting with
Aspen Rolfes in the 200 meters.
Camryn Larsen was 2
nd in the 800 meters,
Rylee Bahe placed 2
nd in the 1000 and sister
Madi Bahe was runner-up in the Mile.
On the men's side, the Prairie Wolves got two victories in the distance races.
Andy Vasquez won the 1000 in a race that NWU took the top three places. Vasquez ran 4:23.35 to win the race, followed by
Norbert Weijenberg in 2
nd and
Preston Decker in 3
rd. The other winner was
Pierce Pennell in the 5000 where he ran 16:01.18.
Reese Hennerberg placed 2
nd in the 60 hurdles running a time of 8.26 which ranks him 3
rd on the NWU all-time charts. Right behind Hennerberg was
Marshall Chasek who placed 3
rd.
Ben Christenson was 2
nd in the 200 meters and Matt Winter also was a 2
nd place finisher in the long jump. The other solid race for the Prairie Wolves was the 400 meters with
Kyle Dickinson taking 3
rd in a time of 49.58 and
Lucas Arps placing 4
th.
