Willie Wilson (’85) was a standout sprinter for the Plainsmen. On the all-time charts, Wilson is third in the 440 with a time of 50.3 seconds, and has the fifth fastest 300 time at 32.42. Wilson also ran the 220 on the record-holding sprint medley team and ran the 440 on the sixth fastest distance medley team. For outdoor track, Wilson ran the 200 on the record-holding sprint medley team, and he has the ninth fastest time in the 200 at 22.02. Wilson also competed on the NAIA All-American distance medley relay team of 1984 during the indoor season. He led that team in the 60 (6.29), the 300 (32.18), and the 440 (50.3). During the 1985 indoor season, Wilson was the conference champion and the NAIA District 11 champion in the 440. He also qualified for the NCAA Division III Nationals in the 55-meter dash. During the 1985 outdoor season, he had the teams’ fastest times in the 100 (10.8), and the 200 (21.78). In 1985, Wilson ran on the NIAC Championship 4x100 team.
