A threat at the plate and on the mound, Travis Solano (Lincoln, Neb.) is one of the top baseball players to ever put on a NWU uniform.  Playing from 1998-2001, he set school records for pitching and hitting.

As a senior in 2001, Solano was named the GPAC Player-of-the-Year and the GPAC Co-Pitcher-of-the-Year leading the Prairie Wolves to the 2001 conference title.  He set the school record by going 11-0 on the mound as a senior while batting .371 with 12 doubles and five home runs.  He also earned 1st-Team All West Region that season.

Solano was a four-time All-Conference performer in the outfield, earning 1st-Team recognition in 2000 and 2001.  In 2000, he was named the NAIA National Player of the Week helping NWU sweep four games over Midland.  In one game he went 3-for-3 with two home runs and 8 RBI.  Solano is also the only pitcher in NWU history to throw two no-hitters, with one versus Concordia in 1999 and the other against Northwestern in 2001.

He finished his career by setting the school record for RBI (137), runs scored (144) and doubles (39).  All those records still stand today.  His 11 pitching wins in 2001 is still the top mark for NWU pitchers while his 20 career pitching wins rank fourth.  The Lincoln Northeast graduate had 170 career hits which ranks 2nd all-time.
