Mark Grabau (Lincoln, Neb.) who played guard from 1982-85, was a sharp-shooter on some of Nebraska Wesleyan’s best basketball teams in school history, including a third place finish at the 1985 NCAA III Tournament as a senior.

After transferring to NWU from Northern Iowa, Grabau became a three-year starter in the backcourt for the Plainsmen. All three seasons Grabau was named to the Second-Team All-NIAC All-Conference team. As a senior he averaged 16.0 points per game and was named to the All-State College Teams and the West Region Division III All-Tournament team, while shooting over 56 percent from the field.

As a junior Grabau was second on the team in scoring at 15.9 points per game earning NCAA West Region honors and District 11 honorable mention recognition for the second consecutive season.

The 6’4 guard from Lincoln East high school finished his career with 1,282 points which was 11th all-time when he graduated and still ranks 18th in NWU history. He had a career field goal percentage of 53.9, which was a record when he left and ranks 10th today.
