Vifquain ('16)j received four letters for his play on the Plainsman basketball team. In the 1913-14 season he was selected team captain as a sophomore and led the team to a 19-2 record and the state championship. His talent on the court helped Wesleyan repeat as state champions again the next year while posting a 13-4 record. In 1915-16, his senior season, Vifquain's efforts helped Wesleyan compile a 20-2 record. Throughout his career he was regarded as one of the "best running guards in the Missouri Valley" and as the "swiftest guard in the Middle West."
