Nebraska Wesleyan president Dr. Fred Ohles has been a loyal supporter of Prairie Wolves athletics during his tenure leading the university.
Dr. Ohles can often been seen in attendance at home NWU athletic events and makes appearances at several end of season banquets to show appreciation for the student-athletes.
He was instrumental in Nebraska Wesleyan becoming a full-time member of NCAA Division III and joining the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Dr. Ohles brought two new varsity sports to the NWU campus with the addition of swimming and wrestling. With those additions, he also enhanced the swimming pool and helped complete construction of a wrestling practice facility.
To help bolster the NWU athletic department, Dr. Ohles added full-time head coaching positions for baseball, softball and both soccer programs. He has recently been an advocate for including assistant coaching endowments as part of the Bold Designs Fundraising Campaign.
