Dennis Butler (’74) was a four-year starter on the football team as an offensive lineman. He also played baseball for two years (1971-72). Among Butler’s honors were being named Wesleyan’s Freshman Lineman of the Year (1970); NIAC Coaches’ All-Star Tackle (1971); Best All-Around Lineman (1972); and Best Offensive Lineman (1973).
