Bob Wellman (McCook, Neb.) became the first three-time All-American in Nebraska Wesleyan men’s golf history. One of only two players in program history to earn All-American honors three times, he was a 1st-Team All-American as a senior in 1999.
Wellman placed 8th at the 1999 NCAA III Golf Championships to earn 1st-Team recognition after finishing 16th as a junior in 1998 earning 3rd-Team honors. In his first season at NWU he placed tied for 27th at the NAIA Championships receiving honorable mention All-American honors.
All four seasons he placed in the top ten at the NIAC Championships to earn All-Conference honors four times. He finished in 3rd place at the conference meet as a senior leading the team a first place finish. Wellman was also third in 1998 and finished fourth in 1996.
As a senior, Wellman won two individual tournaments. He finished his career with four individual tournament victories. During his four-year career, Wellman was part of three NIAC team championships.
