Alex elevated the quality of sports coverage at NWU as its sports information director. He oversaw media relations, athletics publications, statistical recordkeeping, website administration, and the promotion of student-athletes for conference and national honors.
His publications won 28 prizes from the
NAIA Sports Information Directors Association (NAIA-SIDA), including six for best cover design. He received seven CoSIDA honors, including five Best in Nation covers. His baseball, softball, and cross-country guides were chosen as the best in the country by NAIA-SIDA and CoSIDA, in 2012–2013.
Alex, a native of Holdrege, Neb., graduated with a B.S. in sports management from Nebraska Wesleyan in 2003. He was a three-year member of the Nebraska Wesleyan football team.
