LINCOLN, Neb. – Four teams sit within four strokes of each other after the third GPAC Women's Golf Qualifier that was played on Wednesday at Highlands Golf Course in Lincoln.
 
Nebraska Wesleyan shot a team score of 331 on Wednesday and now sits in third place overall in the team race.  Mount Marty holds the overall team lead at 1017, followed by Dakota Wesleyan at 1018, NWU has 1019 and Morningside has a total of 1020.  The top two teams in the GPAC receive an automatic berth to the NAIA Women's Golf Championships that will be held in May in Savannah, Georgia.
 
The fourth GPAC women's golf qualifier is set for May 2 at Wild Oak Golf Club in Mitchell, S.D.
 
Entering Wednesday's round, NWU was tied with Dakota Wesleyan for second place, behind leader Mount Marty.  Morningside shot the low round on Wednesday with a score of 325.  DWU was second at 330, with NWU coming in at 331.
 
NWU senior Kelsey Marshall led NWU with a round of 81 on Wednesday and now is tied for second overall in the individual race.  Lauren Fitts of Dakota Wesleyan holds the overall lead at 232, 11 strokes ahead of Marshall and Logan Wagner of Mount Marty who are both tied for second at 243.
 
Also in the top ten individually for NWU is Sam Beal who is in a three way tie for fifth place.  Beal  has a total of 248, five strokes behind Marshall.  The top ten players in the GPAC standings will earn All-Conference recognition.
 
Joselyn Lemm had the second best individual score for NWU on Wednesday with a round of 82.  She is tied for 17^th in the overall standings.  Beal and Kara Pogreba fired rounds of 84 at Highlands to round out the NWU scoring.  Rachel Petik was the fifth NWU golfer and shot an 86 on the day.
